'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' began with a simple dream: to bring authentic Neapolitan pizza to London. Founded by the Thompson family in 1985, our pizzeria started as a small, family-run spot with recipes handed down through generations.
Oliver Thompson, our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making during her travels across Italy, studying with master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. After returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of true Italian pizza, using traditional methods and the finest ingredients.
What started as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has evolved into a beloved local institution, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never faltered. We still employ wood-fired oven techniques, make our dough fresh daily, and source top-tier ingredients whenever possible.
Today, 'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Thompson family now leading our devoted team. While we’ve embraced some modern innovations, the core of our business remains unchanged: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
